Terms of service
These terms apply to anyone reading joyland-ai.io. They set out what the site is, what it is not, and the ground rules that govern your use of it. If you continue past the age gate, you are treated as having accepted them.
What joyland-ai.io is
joyland-ai.io is an editorial site — a third-party review site covering Joyland AI. It is not the Joyland AI service. It does not host any character chat, does not process any chat messages, and does not offer any of the features that Joyland AI itself offers. If you are looking for the platform, its own homepage is where to go; this site describes and reviews it.
Who can use the site
You must be at least 18 years old — or of the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher — to use joyland-ai.io. The age gate on entry is a self-certification. By passing it, you represent that you meet the age requirement. Full detail sits on the age verification page.
Acceptable use
Reasonable, standard reader behaviour is welcome. Do not: scrape the site in bulk without permission, attempt to circumvent the age gate as a minor, attempt to compromise the site's infrastructure, republish long verbatim sections without a linked citation, or use the site's output as a substrate for auto-generated content mills.
Intellectual property
Editorial content on joyland-ai.io — the text of reviews, comparisons, methodology, and editorial pages — is authored by the site's editorial team and protected by copyright. You are welcome to quote short passages with attribution and a link back to the source page; you are not authorised to republish full articles, adapt them for AI training, or reproduce them on other domains.
Third-party trademarks — "Joyland AI," "Character.AI," "Replika," and other product names — remain the property of their respective owners and are used here descriptively, to refer to those products. No affiliation or endorsement is implied.
Third-party content and links
The site links to Joyland AI, its social channels, competitor platforms, and external research (MIT Media Lab, Common Sense Media, Stanford Medicine's Brainstorm Lab, and similar). Those destinations are not operated by joyland-ai.io. Their own terms and privacy policies apply once you leave this site, and joyland-ai.io is not responsible for the content or conduct of any external destination.
Disclaimers
Coverage on this site is editorial opinion informed by testing and research, not personalised advice. Nothing on joyland-ai.io is: financial advice on whether to subscribe to any paid tier; legal advice on any question of law; medical or mental-health advice on the impact of AI companion use. Where research findings are cited (for instance, MIT Media Lab work on loneliness), they are reported as the research's own findings, not as diagnosis or treatment recommendations.
Reasonable effort is put into keeping the information current. This niche moves quickly, and some detail (prices, feature availability, app-store status) can shift between updates. If a claim is out of date, the correction process on the editorial policy page is the right route.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, joyland-ai.io and its editor accept no liability for direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from reliance on the site's content. This does not exclude liability for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded — such as fraud, personal injury caused by negligence, or breaches of statutory consumer rights.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. Disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam, unless a mandatory local consumer-protection rule confers rights on you in your own jurisdiction — those rights are unaffected.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. Material changes will be posted here with the date they take effect and, where they materially alter the reader relationship, flagged at the top of the page for at least 30 days. Continued use of the site after that period constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
